During lessons Understand your lecture style. Did they use powerpoint? Did they just talk? What does your teacher expects you to do? Get your notes evaluated.

During lessons Begin each lecture on a new page. Consider writing on only one side of the paper. This makes for greater legibility and allows for more freedom in organizing your notes when you review them. Dont’t try to use every space on the page

During lessons Date your lecture notes and number all pages.

During lessons Use loose-leaf notebooks. Easy rearrange your notes and to insert additional materials such as handouts, study guides, additional readings,

During lessons Listen Attentively for: reviews given at the beginning of class material written on whiteboard repetition word signals : most importantly… the result is … finally … summaries at the end of the class

During lessons Make it brief Develop and use standard symbols Leave out unimportant words & (and)W/ (with) # (number) W/o (without) ? (question) p. (page) ! (important) < (less than) **(remember this)b/4 (before) s/d (supply and demand) info. (information) sys (system), cx (communication)

During lessons Use indentations or leave blank spaces to distinguish between major and minor points. Use outline form and/or numbering system

During lessons Use margins for questions, comments, notes to yourself on unclear material

During lessons If you miss a statement, write key words, skip a few space and get the information later. Be clear and try your best to complete your notes. Leave a (?) for info that is unclear.
