SAP for FAFSA SAP must be maintained in his/her course of study regardless of whether financial aid is awarded. Students pursuing a certificate or associate degree are responsible for understanding and adhering to the financial aid satisfactory academic progress policy.

SAP for FAFSA cont. Federal regulations for the purpose of receiving student aid (Title IV programs), SAP is measured with the following standards. Qualitative measure which consists of overall grade point average of at least 2.0 which includes transfer credit hours applicable towards the program of study. (*These include Military transfer coursework)

SAP for FAFSA cont. Under the Quantitative measure, two components exist. Maximum Time Frame (MTF) for completion Minimum % of credit hours completed – attempted completion rate of 67% is required each term taken.

SAP for FAFSA cont. Maximum Time Frame (MTF) If a student reaches 150%, and has not completed their program of study, they have reached the MTF and are no longer eligible to receive federal financial aid. (FA suspension) Change of Major will require a re-evaluation of MTF; exclusions may be applicable but only be allowed once.

SAP for FAFSA cont. Developmental courses are not calculated into MTF, and are also excluded from GPA calculation for academic and financial aid eligibility. Minimum % of hours completed Students will be expected to maintain minimum academic standards which requires to maintain a minimum overall of 2.0 or better and successfully complete at least 67% of coursework attempted.

SAP for FAFSA cont. Evaluation of student grades at LCC: LCC will only accept transfer credit hours with passing grades applicable toward a program of study. This includes GPA and hours earned. The SAP policy has been implemented effective October 2012; therefore no one was reported to the Department of Veteran Affairs for unsatisfactory progress. Additional information will be posted on our website.
