Math Flashcards By:Keyunte Kelley

Ordering Fractions Step 1: Divide to change to a decimal. (only use 2 decimal places) Step 2 :Put on a number line

Scientific Notation Rules Only one number can be in front of the decimal it cant be zero. Ex: 3.2 x

Division of Fraction (Same-Change- Change) 1 st stays the same Change to multiplication. Change 2 nd one to its inverse(flip it over)Multiply. Reciprocal- flip the number.

Integers Absolute value: Distance from Zero Integers are negative & positive numbers. Addition rules: if signs are the same keep the sign and add Ex =-7 Signs are different subtract and keep sign on the one that is greater(largest absolute value)

Proportions Find the missing value 1. Cross Multiply 2. Then solve a 1 step equation.

Dilation & Scale factor Scale factor is the number you multiply in order to make a shape larger or smaller. Dilation is when an enlarged or made smaller by multiplying each side or point by the scale factor.

Probability Probability is what should happen in a given event. Sample events is set up of all possible outcomes in an experiment. Experimental probability is what actually happens during the event.

Pythagorean Theorem If you are looking for C or the hypotenuse then you use A + B = C If your looking for B you use A - C = B

Scatter Plots Scatter plots are similar to line graphs in that they use horizontal & vertical axis to plot data points. Positive correlation goes up. Negative correlation goes down. And no correlation is just scattered every were(no pattern)

Box and Whiskers Box and whiskers is a graph that displays the highest & lowest quarters as whiskers. The middle two of the data as the box & the median.

Circle Graph A circle graph shows parts of a whole.

Multiplying Fractions Number over denominator times Number over denominator. When multiplying mixed numbers you change to improper fractions step 2 to multiply top times top bottom times bottom.

Bar Graph Bar graphs displays date in a horizontal or vertical bars.

Coordinate Plane A Coordinate Plane is an important tool for working with these equations. It is formed by a horizontal number line, called the x-axis, and a vertical number line, called the y-axis. The two axes intersect at a point called the origin.
