POP PORTRAITURE

 Andy Warhol turned the idea of a celebrity portrait into an art form.  What was the message he was conveying through these celebrity portraits?

Student Objectives:  Create your own POP PORTRAIT!  Identify value changes on a monochromatic value scale. – Done in your chosen portrait color.  Design a pop art portrait painting which will utilize at least five value changes. (Choose icon of your choice – zoomed in on face/shoulders)  Locate a photograph that can be used for your subject matter- To be done as homework.  Students will draw and enlarge their portrait choices to watercolor paper for painting. Enlarge using grid method.  Students will paint their portraits using the Monochromatic Color Scheme (student chosen color).
