Presentation transcript:

Hello, I am Pearl Sentell, thanks you for giving me an opportunity to interview for the position of Lead teacher. I am a delectated teacher and mother of four children that attend school in this district. I reside here in the city of Royse City Texas. I have a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, specializing in education. My education back ground is from Ashford University, and having this education back ground has given me the tools that I need to be successful at this job. I am also certified from the state of Texas to teach first through six grade. I will be dedicated to the job at hand of mentoring and giving sound advice to teachers that is having problems without discouraging them. I will also make necessary changes to bring our school into compliance with standards according to the Common Core Standards.

Students should expect me to provide a safe environment that fosters learning and to have developmentally appropriate and interesting materials for them to learn with. There will be sufficient time for students to play and interact with their friends. Learning will be at the student ability and speed. I will be available for conferences at all times with the parents of my students. As a Lead teacher I will connect with parents and have community resources information available upon request when parents inquire. I will stay knowledgeable about new training that becomes available to increase my abilities as a educator. I will seek out new technology to help teachers and students grow.

A classroom management plan is prepared for a orderly classroom conductive to learning. According to (Crosser, 1992, p.23) the difference between chaos and an orderly atmosphere that facilitates learning depends on how the teacher prepares the environment” this management plan is prepared for orderly classroom conductive My plan will include the following rules and guidelines. 1. Students will follow these directions at all times. 2. To move from their seats, students need to get permission from teacher or person in charge of the class by being recognized after raising their hands.

3. Student must move a clothe pin to show that he or she is using the rest room, only one person in the rest room at a time. 4. Student must give respect to fellow students and adults at all time. 5. Students must walk to get in line, no running at no time will be tolerated.

The public school model is the most used in society, the schools must admit students that are within their district. One important fact that may set a school apart is the curriculum that the school uses. Charter schools is another model, charter schools differs from traditionally public schools in that they have greater flexibility and operates under a performance contract, or charter that frees them from traditional public rules and regulations. Magnet schools, however, have maintained their attraction and draw for a diverse group of students and parents because, like charter schools, they are seen as options for choice, school reform, and innovation. Newman, R 2012

 The most effective element of a lesson design is to start with a writing good learning objective, gather knowledge and information from as many sources as you can, for example chat with other teacher in chat rooms, look on websites and social media. Involve students in the lesson plan.  A course of action must be indentified, set goals and objective that are achievable.  The student role is to get a clear understanding and to have clarity on what the objectives and goals are. Students role is to get involve in the lesson.

 Learning objectives are also the means by which learning is evaluated during a lesson, or activity or a class period. Newman, R. (2013).

 My perspective on the role of assessment in the classroom is to do checkups on the student learning, and knowledge by giving quizzes, by asking the student questions. Evaluation and feedback give students a chance to go back and rehearse the information over to gain more understanding and clarity on the subject.  Formative Assessment is the way we do ongoing check up to the student learning, we are allowing the student to practice and not worry about failing or grades. In this phase of the assessment, we give feedback to the student. Summative assessment gives a summary of the knowledge that the student acquired, understand or can do in the classroom (Black & William, 2009)

 In order to ensure that students receive the best instruction to improve their knowledge, and it is just as important for teachers to continue to improve their own knowledge. Teachers need to learn 21 st century skills in order to provide up to date instruction. The environment where teachers work is a perfect place them collaborate..  Connecting with organizations or groups provides teachers with an opportunity to gain a larger perspective on the educational landscape, connect with other educators, and network with people across the nation and the world.
