circle graph A graph used to compare parts of a whole. The circle represents the whole and is separated into parts of the whole, usually expressed as a percentage. A circle is 360 degrees sector scale The “slice” of the circle. The “part” of the whole. The set of all possible values of a given measurement, including the least and greatest numbers in the set, separated by the intervals used title Used to explain the subject of any graph, plot, table, or chart bar graph A graph using bars to compare quantities. Find the center of the circle and draw a radius. There are 4 sectors to match 4 sets of data. Two ways to construct. Divide circle into 60 sections (ugh!) and color each sector to correspond. Nah! OR Use the protractor! Circles are 360˚. OF means X.25 of 360= 90 so…90˚.1 of 360= 36 so… 36˚.05 of 360= 18 so… 18˚.6 of 360=216 so… 216˚ (totals 360˚)

This is your denominator. The number in each eye color category is the numerator. 2.To get the degrees, multiply each fraction by 360 (360/1) 15 /60 x 360/1= 5,400/60= 90˚ 6 /60 x 360/1= 2,160/60= 36˚ 3/60 x 360/1= 1,080/60=18˚ 36 /60 x 360/1= 12,960/60= 216˚ Practice Draw a circle and divide into sectors based on degrees for the eye color data. Graphs need a title and the sectors identified with names and the fraction. SURVEY OF EYE COLOR
