Page 1 It’s Been a Banner Year for Homeless Cats and Dogs in San Francisco  The 20-plus year collaboration between SF ACC and the SF SPCA helps ensure that animals are not left behind  The result: San Francisco leads the nation in preventing and addressing animal homelessness  The three main ways to measure a city’s safety  intake per capita, euthanasia per capita, and live release rate  all improved in 2015  Overall intake is down for the fourth year in a row  Intake for both cats and dogs is down from the prior year  Together, our efforts to help animals through medical, behavioral, and foster programs have reduced euthanasia by nearly 40% since 2009  San Francisco’s Live Release Rate increased to 93%  the highest number ever recorded in the city
