Allied Health Professions Allied health professions refer to a part in healthcare system that works on assisting doctors and nurses in their decision making process. Allied health professionals work on identifying, evaluating and preventing diseases in general by giving patients some medical practices that have been prescribed by licensed professionals (American Dental Education Association, 2012)

Allied Health Professions Cont. Speech-language pathology is a professional who treats people with speech and language related disorders Physical therapy is a profession that focus much on helping people with body movements’ problems Occupational therapy is a profession that works on helping people with health problems to live independently (American Dental Education Association, 2012)

Allied Health Professions Cont. Dietetic services refers to educating people about different kinds of foods that are healthy and others that are not Respiratory therapy is a medical department that deals with people who are facing cardiovascular disorders and assists them in their respiration process Radiologic services refer to the services in which the use of x-rays help health professionals to look inside the body of the patients for treatment of some diseases (American Dental Education Association, 2012)

LPN LPN provides basic and routine healthcare services to patients In order to be an LPN, a person is asked to have a diploma in practical nursing and have an associated certificate. Responsibilities include Planning and managing patient Recording patient medical history Obtaining patient vital signs Escorting patients to their rooms (The American Nurses Association, 2015)

RN RN is a nurse who have a degree from a nursing program and have a license from the state In order to be an RN, a person is asked to have a diploma or a Bachelor's degree in nursing Responsibilities include Supervise LPN Pay attention to patients’ behaviors make sure that the working environment has the needed hygiene carrying out the diagnosis of some diseases (The American Nurses Association, 2015)

Nurse Practitioner Levels of Nursing Nursing practitioner refers to a nurse who have been trained for the treatment of chronic diseases In order to be a NP, a person is asked to have a masters or a doctorate degree from nursing NP’s responsibilities: Diagnosing, treating patients with chronic illnesses Conducting physical examinations and interpret their results Performing diagnostic tests and procedures (The American Nurses Association, 2015)

Conclusion Healthcare, is a very large system that has many different careers. Some healthcare staffs work directly with patients and others do not, but all of them work with an intention of giving patients good experience.
