If I were on a deserted island, who would I choose to be with me? (Making connections 8) Power point by: Lizzie P.

Who are the characters and how do I feel about them? Katniss- She is the main character of the story. Katniss has energy, determination, and spunk. I like how tough, brave, and strong Katniss is. Peeta- He is strong and fierce. Peeta is also one of the main characters. He always seems to make an impression and people look up to him. I think Peeta is pretty confident around Katniss. The Careers (groups 1, 2, and 4)- I don’t really have that much to say for the Careers. I don’t like them very much. They tend to gang up and be a little cruel. I think they are a little mischievous and sneaky. Haymitch- He is sort of strange. Haymitch likes wine and stuff you shouldn’t be drinking. He seems to be more of a Peeta fan than a Katniss fan. Effie- In my opinion, Effie is sort of a loud mouth. She tends to have a slight attitude sometimes. I think she might be bossy. Effie is excited to finally have a group that might actually win the games. Rue- Rue is a sweet girl. I love Rue very much, but I haven’t read much about her yet. She seems very kind and loving. It is probably hard for her to fight for life. Prim- Prim is Katniss’ sister. Prim is very kind and young. She loves Katniss very much. I like Prim an awful lot.

If I were on a deserted island, the character I would like to have with me would be…

KATNISS EVERDEEN!!! !

Why do I choose Katniss? Most of the other tributes would probably be very handy, but Katniss is the one I can most rely on. Her bravery and determination really would help us get home, because Katniss would never give up. All of the other characters are amazing, but Katniss has the ability to hunt better than anyone. I won’t starve if Katniss is with me. Katniss can run very fast. On page 149, it states that Katniss can run faster than any of the girls in her school, but a few can beat her in distant races. If Katniss can run, than she can help me get food, if there are wild animals she can get us away from them. Running is a good technique and we would need it. Katniss can make shelter. That’ll be a good help because I wouldn’t be able to live without shelter. On page 156, Katniss makes shelter in a tree. That’s very smart, and I know there will be other ideas that she will have, too.

In conclusion, Katniss would help me survive on a deserted island. We will team up and make everything okay. I know that I can count on Katniss.
