Basic Interconnections Generally you can connect up to three (3) other devices to you GPS unit –Radar –Autopilot –Computer

NMEA 2000 Allows a device to tap into a bus (cable) that bypasses all the electronic devices Slow to be adopted by boat manufacturers Compatible with NMEA 0183 (Figure 26-3)

Higher-Speed Connections Applicable for multiple navigation and helm stations Require a unique brand of equipment –Raymarine’s interconnection system (High Speed Bus HSB2) –Involves the use of a “daisy chain” –Furuno or NavNet (employs Ethernet protocol)
