Inventory tracking/Accounting Marketing communication Marketing research Sales -- projection, actual Salesperson production Service tracking Manufacturing production Grandmother’s Books - II2 Requirements

Grandmother’s Books - II3 Inventory tracking/Accounting Grandmother’s Books Online will use Microsoft Access to create databases which will track inventory, suppliers, customers, and orders. This set of relational databases will be supported by Microsoft Excel for accounting purposes. Requirements

Grandmother’s Books - II4 Marketing communication Grandmother’s Books Online will use , as well as the website, to communicate with its customers. New arrivals, special sales, and other items of interest will be posted regularly on the website. One of our team members will create and maintain the website. Requirements

Grandmother’s Books - II5 Marketing research Grandmother’s Books Online will use the internet to research other specialty bookstores online and network with those companies. In addition, internet search engines will be used to find other sources of books in which we are interested in selling within our designated categories. Requirements

Grandmother’s Books - II6 Sales -- projection, actual Grandmother’s Books Online intends to sell 2500 books in the $10 range to gross $25,000 in its first year of operation. We intend to keep $20,000 in operating expenses, if possible. Requirements

Grandmother’s Books - II7 Salesperson production Grandmother’s Books Online will use the four salespeople from the floor of its largest retail store to operate the online bookstore. In addition, we will focus on only four categories of books in order to maximize our success. Requirements

Grandmother’s Books - II8 Service tracking Grandmother’s Books Online will use the database system to track customer service from the time of the order until delivery. We will gather information about our customers, their preferences and needs through our website. Requirements

Grandmother’s Books - II9 Manufacturing production Grandmother’s Books Online will use inventory from the retail stores of its parent company and therefore, will not be directly in the business of manufacturing. However, we will practice “just in time” order fulfillment, creating an efficient system for moving merchandise from the floor of the retail store to the shipping point. Requirements
