“ADHD” APP By : Yuliana Arvayo, America Saldivar, & Francisca Chavez 8Red & 8Yellow

WHAT IS “ADHD”? Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a problem of not being able to focus, being overactive, not being able control behavior, or a combination of these. (Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder)

Adults - Lack of focus, hyper focus, disorganization, forgetfulness, impulsivity, emotional problems, poor self-image. Children - Doesn't pay attention to details, make careless mistakes, easily distracted, appears not to listen when spoken to, has difficulty remembering things and following instructions, has trouble staying organized, planning ahead, and finishing projects. WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS IN ADULTS AND CHILDREN?

WHAT HAS BEEN THE TREND OF ADHD POPULATION? The percentage of children diagnosed with ADHD increased from 1997 (5.5 percent) to 2012 (9.5 percent), an increase of nearly 75 percent. The rate declined slightly in 2013, to 8.8 percent. (Figure 1)

NUMBER OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH ADHD IN USA? Number of children ever diagnosed with ADHD: 5.9 million Number of adults ever diagnosed with ADHD: 8 million

WHAT ARE NEEDS OF ADHD PEOPLE? Their may not be a cure for this mental disorder, but this app will surely help them control themselves a little more. When using this app there’s no distractions around them, so that way they can actually focus on the app. There may be an adult with them during that time to help them solve problems on the app. The reason for this app is to control them. We don’t want them to be failing school just because of their disorder.

FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ADHD PEOPLE ? Children at the age of 3 can be diagnosed with ADHD. Some parents worry that their child will have side effects like weight loss, headaches, irritability, or sleep problems, but doctors can usually reduce them by adjusting the dose, switching to another medication (there are now about 20 different ones) Any child who has ADHD behavior may improve as they get older.

HOW CAN AN APPLICATIOPN HELP ADHD PEOPLE ? It can help them a lot by, helping them with everything they struggle with. For example, if they have trouble with math, we can put a section of mathematics for them. The application has to be creative, so when they show them the app it can easily grab their attention. And they can focus on it really good. It may also help them with their hyperactivity. It can help them be calm and not be crazy or wild. We want them to be calm, because if their wild then something might go wrong, they can get hurt.

…IN CONCLUSION In conclusion, we want these children to have a bright future. They might have a mental disease, but we believe in them. We want to help them. And we have confidence that this app will try to help them and change their behavior. Meaning as, behaving in the correct way. Its not as easy as it seems, parents struggle on maintaining their child calm. This app will help your children.
