The Best Fit A BCD Teachers should focus on the basic essential skills and work to instill traditional American virtues. Teachers should provide instruction that allows students to interact with others as they learn from activities that are relevant. Teachers should give students choices about what they want to learn to help them learn to choose their own paths. Teachers should focus on providing procedures and positive reinforcement for students as a way to condition them for learning.

Consensus Building Exercise: In your small group, discuss the various definitions of formative assessment. Reach a consensus regarding the best definition of formative assessment from the choices given.

It all comes down to this… Remove all of your materials from your desk. Please get out a number two pencil. Make sure to read each question thoroughly before you answer. Check each answer before you turn your paper in. You may begin. If you fail, we will remediate and retest you!

Make every minute count The old formula was instruct, instruct, instruct, and then assess. Assessment and instruction need to be completely interwoven for optimal student success.
