Childhood July 24, 1897 Amelia was born. Her parents names where Amy and Edwin Earhart. On July 24, 1897 Amelia Earhart got her name from her parents. She and her sister liked to be adventurous when they where little. One time Amelia and her sister where bored at their Grandma’s house, so they built a rollercoaster.

Why this person is famous Amelia was the first girl to fly across the Atlantic Ocean with a crew. Amelia made a record for flying 14,000 feet in the air. She was the first girl to fly across the Atlantic Ocean alone. People cannot find her or her plane in the ocean where she wrecked.

Adult Life Amelia and her friend saw the Wright Brothers flying in their airplane. When she took her first flight she loved it and took lessons. She got a job and she used the money to take flying lessons. One day in April 1928, she got a phone call to fly across the Atlantic ocean. She said yes , and the next thing you know she was on her trip.

Interesting Facts She died mysteriously. She crashed on her way back to the United States. She had to write a book about the trip. On the trip they had to stop in the middle of the ocean by a ship to get gas so they would make it back to shore.

Character Traits Adventurous She was adventurous, because she made the record for flying the highest in the air. Brave She was brave because she was the first female to fly across the Atlantic Ocean all by herself.
