Best practices on “Action” from partners’schools

Comenius project

Ecological aims 1.1 The students yearly assess the water quality of a local river and compare their results with the official results of official institutions. 1.2 The students of each partner search for a typical plant for their region that lives in or nearby the river and study it, related to the quality and atmospheric conditions The students make a plan to assure a good quality of the living conditions of the local flora.

Cultural aims 4.1. The students create a Garden of Eden. They will make a Garden of Eden and bring an own artistic approach and interpretation of this idea. + a common Day the last year of the project (Geel) 4.2. The students create a game that youngsters can play, to create consciousness and environmental and cultural awareness to widen their horizon, to stimulate European citizenship.

Political aims 2.1. The students make a charter to hand over to the municipality to create political awareness about the conditions of the local river 2.2. The students undertake a political action and hand over the charter to the mayor and have it signed 2.3. The students organize, together with the municipality a ‘Garden of Eden day’, to create awareness (the same same day for all partners)

ITC Einaudi Palmanova (Italy)

There is an eutrophication of the river and the presence of faecal coliforms indicates a severe sewer pollution

Our proposal We established that our river is polluted because of sewer effluents. In fact only some municipalities are connected to the big water purification plant settled in S.Giorgio.

So we suggest to install a phytodepuration system to treat the water before entering our river in the municipalities of Cervignano and Palmanova.

Our proposal is a sub superficial horizontal flow system in the municipalities of Cervignano and Palmanova for the communities such as schools, barraks or retirement homes not connected to the water depuration plant.
