MU Measure Type of Measure: Rate The number of prescriptions in the denominator generated and transmitted electronically. >40% The number of prescriptions written by the EP for drugs requiring a prescription in order to be dispensed, other than controlled substances, for patients whose records are in the certified EHR during the EHR reporting period. ePrescribing
Threshold More than 40% of all permissible prescriptions written by the EP during the EHR reporting period are transmitted electronically using certified EHR technology. ePrescribing
RPMS Reporting Logic Denominator Inclusions: COUNT: each prescription electronically entered by the eligible provider WHERE: the issue date falls during the EHR reporting period AND WHERE: it was filled by an on-site pharmacy, off-site pharmacy, or on-site COTS pharmacy AND WHERE: a prescription number exists ePrescribing
RPMS Reporting Logic Numerator Inclusions: COUNT: each prescription in the denominator WHERE: the prescription number: IS: numeric AND: the Nature of Order does not = “written” OR STARTS: with “X” AND: the comment in the activity log contains “E- Prescribe” ePrescribing
RPMS Reporting Logic Measure Exclusion: EPs who write (enter) fewer than 100 prescriptions during the EHR reporting period are excluded from this measure. ePrescribing
RPMS Reporting Logic Denominator Exclusions: Any entries of any type in the outside medication component. Any prescription which has a remark that contains “Administered in Clinic.” Any prescription for a Controlled Substance identified by DEA special handling code of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. ePrescribing
