Let’s look at 2x + 2 = 6 First subtract 2 from both sides First subtract 2 from both sides 2x = 6-2 2x = 6-2 2x = 4 2x = 4 Then divide both sides by 2 Then divide both sides by 2 2x/2 = 4/2 2x/2 = 4/2 So x=2 So x=2
