Level III metadata specialist (cataloger) Subject Matter Expertise Language Expertise Technical Knowledge Emotional Intelligence Cataloging Expertise  Independently creating complex metadata for both book and non-book titles, following descriptive cataloging rules according to AACR2 and the Library of Congress Rule Interpretations, assigning subject headings, assigning Dewey, NLM, or LC call numbers.  Independently creating metadata for NACO headings.  Meeting daily and monthly production goals in a cost-effective manner and meeting tight contractual deadlines on a monthly basis.  Maintaining a quality level of 98% accuracy or better by monitoring all cataloging work. Identifying and acquiring current interest materials using state-of-the-art selection tools to meet the needs of the library community. Independently assuming workflow management responsibilities for 3-5 or more concurrent projects. Assisting Metadata Manager or Supervisor with workflow management responsibilities for Metadata Specialists I and II by performing quality reviews, providing detailed work instructions and ensuring staff meet deadlines. Providing metadata training and checking the work of other staff members as needed.
