European countries expanded their control over new lands. Columbian Exchange- the transfer of culture- people, language, religion, ideas, food, animals, plants, diseases, technology- between Europe and America. Native Americans are devastated by diseases. Enslaved Africans are brought to the Americas.
Between the 1400s and 1600s, European explorers from Spain, France and England sailed to America in search of faster sea routes to Asia, to find gold, spread Christianity and expand their empires. As a result of exploration, their was a transfer of cultures between Europe and the Americas, known as the Columbian Exchange, which included the devastation of Native Americans and the introduction of African slavery to the Americas.
