This section of the examination specification requires you to look at: Reasons why some people believe in God Reasons why some people do not believe in God The media and belief in God

Reasons why some people believe in God You will need to understand the effects of, and give reasons for your own opinion about: a religious upbringing (does being brought up in a Christian family make you believe in God?) religious experience, (e.g. if God answers your prayers, will this convince you he exists?) the design argument the argument from causation.

Reasons why some people do not believe in God You will need to understand the effects of, and give reasons for you own opinion about: scientific explanations of the origins of the world unanswered prayers evil and suffering.

The media and belief in God You will need to understand the effects of,and give reasons for your own opinion about: how a television or radio programme about religion could affect attitudes to belief in God.
