1 Do Now As you attempt the word search can you think of how you might use some of the 99 Islamic Names of God to answer some of the following GCSE questions From 2016 Unit 1 Paper (c) Explain why some followers of one religion other than Christianity do not agree with euthanasia. (c) Choose one religion other than Christianity and explain why some of its followers accept divorce. From 2016 Unit 8 Paper (c) Choose one religion other than Christianity and explain why its followers work for justice in the world today. (c) Choose one religion other than Christianity and explain why some of its followers agree with capital punishment and some do not.

2 Learning Objective Today we are start revision. We shall look at unit 1 section 1. We shall revise why suffering makes some people doubt God. You should be able to recall at least 4 ways in which Christians respond to the problem of evil and suffering

3 Independent Learning To revise for a test on Unit 8 Section 1 on Thursday 19th January. The test will last for 22 minutes.

7 Activation Christians might respond to suffering in many ways. Try to think of as many ways as you can in the next minute

8 Activation Christians might respond by trying to explain why God might allow suffering. They might say any of the following things. Make sure you understand what they mean 1 World is a test 2 We disobey God like Adam and Eve 3 World is like a tapestry 4 Some suffering is the work of the devil 5 Boethius asked how can we doubt God when there is so much good 6 Christians say that Jesus suffered so God knows what it feels like Secondly Christians might respond by doing something practical like praying or doing charity work 08/12/2018
