Generic Trigger List for MC Production Terry Wyatt. L3 Algorithms Meeting 11 th Sept overview of planned list tools/Filters in L3 technical section plan of action

Structure of MC trigger list “Users” Section ~25 example triggers from the current global list concentrate on “single object” triggers: –e, , jet, missing E T, J/  “Technical” Section L1: define contents of “count comparator” block –256-bits [object type, count] e.g., CEM(1,10) L2, L3: run all available tools on all events –that run without crashing and produce sensible results –use loose cuts, low p T thresholds

L3 Tools/Filters Electrons: –run two instances of standard electron tool: “high p T ”: p T > 10 GeV –run high p T tool with/without track-based PV –needs emfr, shape, track-match info on TMB! “low p T ”: p T > 1.5 GeV, emfr>0.9, shape –TRACK GlobalTracker –Cal_Track_dphi, _deta, _dcut = -1. ? –run p T > 1.5 GeV road method electron tool Jets: –run just SCJET_9 ? (with/without track-based PV) Missing E T –NADA? –PV –No E T threshold - to get missing E T info on each event?

L3 Tools/Filters Run loose local muon with no p T cut –centralmatchrefset: GlobalTracker –CentralMatchReq: MUO_CENTRAL_MATCH Taus: –calorimeter-based tau with standard cuts –track-based tau?

L3 Tools/Filters Tracking information: –run both Global and CFT-only tracking from standalone track filter with p T > 1.5 GeV –needs wrapper to produce physics_results (p13? who?) Primary Vertex Information –stored in physics_results for each physics object

Tools/documentation for users L1/L2/L3 physics objects on thumbnail Kyle Stevenson Peter Tamburello L1/L2/L3 functions for analysis_example Erich Varnes L1/L2/L3 documentation of physics objects Erich Varnes

Plan of action (short-term) Last week: –Met with L1 trig(sim) experts –Terry 2 got lesson on L1 programming in trigger database –Dan and Terry put together sketch of L3 technical section Week 9 th -13 th Sept: –first version of list in trigger database containing: ~25 example triggers L2/L3 technical section fairly complete L1 technical section started at least –some questions on L1CTT and L1Muon still to be resolved –first version of L3 analysis_example and physics object documentation available from Erich –testing begins
