Crayfish parts! By. Jack and Nate THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A FEMALE OR MALE CRAYFISH One characteristic is if you look at the bottom and see a egg pouch (a little circle at the bottom) it’s a female meaning a girl. The second characteristic is for a male if it doesn't have long swimmerets it’s a male not a female INDEX Swimmerets- they help the crayfish swim backwards Egg pouch- a little circle at the bottom of a crayfish

FUN FACTS! A crayfish can eat hotdogs and cat food!!!! Cray fish are cousins of the lobster! (THAT’S CRAZY!!!) Crayfish live on every continent except Africa and Antarctica! There are 200 species on north America! Crayfish are also called crawfish!(WHAT THAT’S CRAZY!) There is a crayfish called the Dwarf crayfish. It is a vary small crayfish!

Crayfish predators! A mud puppy is a crayfishes predator a mud puppy is about one foot long. Second is a small mouth bass this creature lives in fresh water. Third is a rock bass they eat up to 90% of there diet in crayfish WOW!

CRAYFISH Diet! Crayfish are omnivorous…like most shrimp and lobsters. That means they eat almost anything. Crayfish eat fish, shrimp, water plants, worms, insects, snails, plankton, and more. They hold their food with their claws. (pincers) the amount of food they eat affects how often they molt. When they molt they need to eat their shell to give them calcium. If you can, try to feed your crayfish a water plant called elodea. Leave the elodea in its tank. You can also feed them cat food and hotdogs.

JOKES PAGE (HAHAHA!) A guy walks into a restaurant and asks the waiter “Do you serve crayfish here?” The waiter says yes. The guy says, “Great I will have a pizza! And a plate of chips for my crayfish friend here. (HAHAHA!) Where does a crayfish get his money from a stream bank (HAHAHA!)

INFORMATION! Crayfish are invertebrates. That means they don’t have bones, but they do have an exoskeleton to protect their inner body parts. The crayfish have jointed legs to walk and pick up food. Crayfish have antennas to use senses like feeling, tasting and smelling. They have a bumpy not smooth outer layer. Some crayfish are as small as thumb tacks, while others can be as long as cats. They molt in order to evolve witch means get bigger it molts out and eats its old shell witch is called shedding

Four things crayfish need in a habitat. First a crayfish needs water Second a crayfish needs shelter because they are very territorial. Third a crayfish needs water plants like seaweed and other plants. Fourth a crayfish needs is oxygen.
