Today is Tuesday, September 15, You will need your: planner, Social Studies journal, and a writing utensil. Cross Country

Please write this learning target in your planner: Learning Target  I will understand what we will be studying in Social Studies. Practice Activities  We will set up our Social Studies journal.  We will interview our text book. Success Criteria  I will have my journal set up  I will be more familiar with our text book.

1. Write your name, Social Studies and the period on the front cover. BIG 2. Leave the first two pages blank.

1. Turn to the first page of the journal and set it up this way:

1. Choose one person to bring books back for your table group. Have them raise their hand. 2. When I call on you, please get your books.

1. What’s on the cover? 2. Page through to the table of contents on pages vi and vii and read the units and chapters

Why do I have to put a heading on my paper? It helps the teacher or professor identify:  Whom the paper is from  Whom the paper is for  Which class it is for  What date it was turned in.

All these paper writing rules have been standardized by the Purdue University Language Arts Department And their online resource is called OWL.

Learning Target  I know what we will be studying in Social Studies this year. Homework none Exit Task Take out half a sheet of paper, head it, and write down what you think Social Studies is and why it is important.
