The Three R’s

Reverence Habakkuk 2:18-20 Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Reverence Acts 17:24-25 Matthew 6:9 “In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.”

Respect Ephesians 6:1-3 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. ‘Honor your father and mother,’ which is the first commandment with promise: ‘that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.’” Proverbs 1:8-9 “My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother; For they will be a graceful ornament on your head, And chains about your neck.”

Respect Proverbs 2:1, 5 “My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you,…Then you will understand the fear of the LORD, And find the knowledge of God.” Deuteronomy 21: Timothy 5:4 “But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety at home and to repay their parents; for this is good and acceptable before God.”

Responsibility Romans 4:12 “So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.”

Responsibility 2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.” Philippians 2:12 “Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.”
