PHENIX Muon Meetig, Santa Fe, June 23 rd The PHENIX Forward Upgrade Matthias Grosse Perdekamp, RBRC and UIUC International Collaboration Organization o Scope of the project o breakdown of responsibilities

PHENIX Muon Meetig, Santa Fe, June 23 rd Organization Proposed scope of the forward upgrade: o combine NCC + muon trigger upgrade  connections: * W-tagging off-line * heavy flavor trigger * trigger processors * in terms of new international contributions NCC [A-dependence of nucleon structure, ∆G(x)) + mu-trigger [∆q(x)] target the same community * existing links between new hardware groups with W-Si interest and intermediate energy groups o stay separate from forward silicon and introduce “integration czar” for work on integration issues with forward silicon and other upgrades o be prepared to surrender significant responsibilities to new collaborators
