1 Kings 17:1-7 ELIJAH, THE CREEK & THE CHALLENGE

 This is Elijah’s introduction.  The kings before Ahab were bad, but he is worse.  If you think Ahab is evil you should meet his wife – Jezebel.  The two of them bring idolatry to Israel like never seen before.  THE MEMORY OF GOD IS GROWING DIMMER BY THE DAY.  God reminds them He is still in charge – 1 Kings 17:1 SET THE STAGE

 If you understand what God really promises.  If your faith continues even when the creek dries up.  If your obedience is not based on what God has done for you lately. YOU CAN OVERCOME THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE

 God was teaching Ahab that he was not the most powerful person living.  God was teaching Ahab that He was in charge.  How would you like to bring this message to the king?  Do we need this lesson? WHAT THE DROUGHT MEANT FOR AHAB

 Israel escaped at least some of the plagues (if not all of them).  God provides for Elijah – 1 Kings 17:2-6  God tells Elijah to hide.  God gave Elijah the basics (2 meals a day + water).  Matt. 6:31-33; 1 Tim. 6:7-8 WHAT ABOUT GOD’S PROPHET?

 1 Kings 17:7  The Creek Dries Up? But Why?  I Thought God Was Going to Provide For Me!  It’s Easy to Trust God While the Creek is Flowing, But What About When It Dries Up? LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENS NOW!

 If you understand what God really promises.  If your faith continues even when the creek dries up.  If your obedience is not based on what God has done for you lately. YOU CAN OVERCOME THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE
