1. DO YOU BELIEVE GOD IS WORKING TO BRING REVIVAL IN AMERICA TODAY?

2. I. ISRAEL HAD GONE SO FAR FROM GOD THAT ONLY A MIRACLE COULD BRING THEM BACK.

3. 1 Kings 16:30-“Ahab son of Omri did more evil in the eyes of the Lord than any of those before him.”

4. 16:33-“Ahab also made an Asherah pole and did more to provoke the Lord, the God of Israel, to anger than did all the kings of Israel before him.”

5. 18:21-“Elijah went before the people and said, "How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him."

6. 18:36-37 "O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your

7. command. Answer me, O Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, O Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again."

8. Purposes for the miracle: 1) So the people would believe that God is the ONLY God they should worship.

9. 2) So the people would believe that Elijah had been sent by God to lead them back to God.

10. 3) So the people would believe that God was doing all of this so they would turn back to Him right then.

11. II. IT’S THE SAME FOR AMERICA.

12. III. GOD’S PEOPLE HAVE TO BELIEVE IN GOD AND HIS POWER.

13. But it’s not enough for me to believe it. You have to believe it

14. If we believe in Him then the after the fire comes in the life of our church, the rain will come as in the day of Elijah.

15. The people of the world will look at our church and see things happening that can ONLY be explained as the work of God!

16. The miracle then and the miracles that God is doing today have the same purposes: 1) Prepare our hearts to draw close to Him.

17. 2) Cause our ears to hear His Word with a new understanding of their meaning for our lives.

18. 3) Turn us back toward Him and the accomplishment of His plans for our lives.
