Writing Two-Step Equations Goal:write verbal sentences as two-step equations, solve verbal problems by writing and solving two-step equations. Six more than twice a number is -20.

Examples: 1.Seven more than three times a number is 31. Find the number. 2.The quotient of a number and 5, increased by 8, is equal to fourteen. Find the number.

3.Eighteen is six less than four times a number. Fine the number. 4.Five less than three times a number is thirteen. Find the number.

5. The product of two and a number increased by 9. the result is seventeen. Find the number. 6.Ten more than four times a number is forty-six. Find the number.

7. The quotient of a number and negative eight, less five, is negative two. Find the number. 8.The product of negative three and a number, decreased by nine, is twenty-seven. Find the number.

9.Three more than two times a number is eleven. Find the number. 10.Seven less than three times a number is negative twenty-two. Find the number.
