Defining the term: “It is a deliberate act of withstanding the spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional challenges that are embedded in the believer’s new life in Christ.”

I Peter 2:20I Peter 2:20: For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. “Endurance honors God” 1 Peter 2:191 Peter 2:19 For this is a grace, if for conscience toward God anyone endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

II Corinthians 11:23II Corinthians 11:23: Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death. II Corinthians 11:24II Corinthians 11:24: Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. II Corinthians 11:25II Corinthians 11:25: Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; Consider Paul’s trail of endurance

II Corinthians 11:26II Corinthians 11:26: on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; II Corinthians 11:27II Corinthians 11:27: in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. II Corinthians 11:28II Corinthians 11:28: And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches.

1.It Perseveres: 2.It is Patient: 3.It has a Purpose: 4.It has Hope: 5.It has Strength: 6.It requires an Attitude: 7.It is Focused: “Endurance is designed to be a discipline of the soul” The Profile of Endurance :

“Endurance is a position of blessing ” “Endurance is a position of blessing ” Jas 5:11 Jas 5:11 Behold, we count blessed those who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you have seen the end of the Lord, that the Lord is full of pity and of tender mercy.

“Endurance is a spiritual and relational entity” “Endurance is a spiritual and relational entity” Heb 12:7 Heb 12:7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons, for what son is he whom the father does not chasten?

2Th 1:3 2Th 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, my brothers, as it is right, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each one of you abounds toward one another; 2Th 1:4 2Th 1:4 so much so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations which you endure. “Endurance is a admirable quality”

“Endurance is a spiritual enablement, initiated by choice: choose well this day for the outcome tomorrow.”
