“The Israelites said to them, ‘If only we had died by the LORD’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.’ ”

“When the sun rose, God provided a scorching east wind, and the sun blazed on Jonah’s head so that he grew faint. He wanted to die, and said, “It would be better for me to die than to live.”

“ 3 Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, 4 while he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness. He came to a broom bush, sat down under it and prayed that he might die. ‘I have had enough, LORD,’ he said. ‘Take my life…’ ”

“I have worked much harder, been in prison more frequently, been flogged more severely, and been exposed to death again and again. 24 Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, 26 I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers. 27 I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.”

“They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city.” “They stoned Paul and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. But after the disciples had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city.”

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”

“The LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.”

“ 23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.”

“For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver.”

“Now if we are children, then we are heirs- heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.”

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

“For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”

“No longer will there be any curse.” (Revelation 22:3, NIV) “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” (Revelation 21:4, NIV)

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

“If we died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him.”

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

“In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
