THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A CLEAR GOD GIVEN VISION FOR OUR LIFE (Introduction)

In the book of Jeremiah we read, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11) God has a good plan for our life that begins the moment that we come to Christ Every believer can make a great difference in this world for eternity

GOD’S VISION AND PLAN FOR OUR LIFE WILL ALWAYS BE ABOUT LAYING DOWN OUR LIVES AND LIVING FOR OTHERS JESUS IS OUR ROLE MODEL Jesus Himself said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet is shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave - just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:25-28)

A WHOLE HEARTED COMMITMENT TO KNOWING JESUS IS A GREAT KEY TO LIVING IN GOD’S WILL FOR OUR LIFE In the book of Jeremiah we also read, “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” (Jeremiah 29:12) “And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13)

We must refuse therefore to allow the busyness of life and the cares of this world to stop us from spending quality time with the LORD In the gospel of Luke we read, “Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word.” (Luke 10:38-39)

But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” (Luke 10:40-42)

WE MUST SIMPLY MAKE TIME TO SPEND WITH THE LORD ON A CONSISTENT BASIS SO THAT HE CAN BIRTH THINGS IN OUR HEART TO DO FOR HIS GLORY – So that we can know His will for our life on a CONTINUAL basis It is in that place of intimacy with the LORD that Dreams and Visions to make a great difference in this world for eternity are birthed as we spend time in God’s presence King David, “Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)

PURSUING GOD’S VISION AND PLAN FOR OUR LIFE NEEDS TO BE AN ONGOING COMMITMENT IN OUR LIFE God’s vision and plan for our life continually unfolds over time. In the book of Proverbs we read, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
