5. Here’s the news you need to know: Color Guard team 1 should report for duty this week. Debate Tryouts are being held today after school. You should have picked up information and signed up outside room 319.

6. Returning debaters who have not yet contacted Ms. Dausel should do so today and plan to meet after school tomorrow to lay out cases. The Debate Team will be announced tomorrow, and the first full Team meeting will be held after school on Wednesday.

7. Dodgeball Tournament is coming! Start forming your teams now for the middle school dodgeball tournament. The dodgeball tournament is on Friday, February 5 th from 3:30 to 5:15 and is $15 per team. Teams of 8 will face off in this double elimination tournament.

8. It is open to staff and middle school students. There is only room for 14 teams. Registration packets can be picked up in the main office. Forms and money are due to Mr. Shaw by Tuesday, February 2 nd.

9. It's cold outside! Come to the cafeteria on February 5th at 5 PM to warm up and help us crown a Chili Champ at the first ever Kemps Landing Old Donation School Chili Cook-Off! We also have many raffle prizes to give away. Make a plan to come out for a night of family fun. Order forms were in Thursday folders and are available at the PTA website.

10. You may have put dodgeball tournament and chili cook off together and come up with Feb 5 th. They are on the same day. Come and cheer on the dodgeball teams and enjoy some chili!

11. Attention Middle School Students! Mrs. Fowler is organizing a Student Technology Team open to all students in grades 6, 7, and 8. Students selected for the team will help with loading and updating software on laptops, desktops and iPads; keeping technology organized and clean; and serving as ambassadors in their classes as well as in the elementary grades on the proper care and respect for technology.

12. Students must apply and must be in good academic standing in order to participate. If you are interested in participating, applications are available by the door to room 419, just outside the back door to the middle school computer lab, and should be returned there as well. The deadline to apply is Friday, January 29 th.
