1 The symbolic meaning of a Mockingbird and its importance to Harper Lee’s novel. By: Claire, Jennifer, Jessica, Chris, and Erika.

2 The mockingbird itself is rarely mentioned, yet it has important symbolic value. The book implies that comparing someone to a Mockingbird is to say that it would be immoral to punish that person because they didn’t deserve it. Insert picture of mockingbird sunny happy

6 Tom Robinson, Boo Radley, Jem and Scout were all Mockingbirds in some way Some were harmed for no reason, one was prosecuted for a crime he did not commit and another ridiculed for being different
