1 Euromet-meeting in Thessaloniki - March 20051 FORCE Technology Building up a high-pressure loop in FORCE Technology Historic: 01-04-2003 The investment was approved by the board. 01-06-2004Approved by DANAK (25 bar, 2500 m 3 /h with compressed air as test medium). 01-06-2004The first accredited calibration was performed. 01-09-2004Approved by DANAK (50 bar, 6500 m 3 /h with natural gas as test medium). 31-12-2004More than 100 meters have been calibrated in the new facilities.

Operating Pressure: 0 – 50 bar. Flow range: 8 – 6500 m 3 /h. (later this year)(8 - 10000 m 3 /h). Pressure-drop in the loop: 0 - 1000 mbar. Temperature: Ambient (10 –30 °C). Temp. stability in the gas: ± 0,05 °C. Uncertainty: ± 0,17 – 0,35 % depending of flow and static Pressure. Traceability: The harmonised European meter.

Calibrated at: 1 bar abs. with air and 9, 26 and 51 bar abs. with natural gas.

8 Euromet-meeting in Thessaloniki - March 20058 FORCE Technology The heart in the high pressure loop An axial-compressor built in a vessel with a diameter of 1300 mm is driven by a electric engine of 291 KW. To regulate the flow between 8 and 10000 m 3 /h the speed of the axial compressor can be regulated from 0 – 1600 rev/min. For low flow and high pressure drop in the loop a by-pass valve will open from 0 – 100% depending of the flow and the pressure drop over the meter under test

9 Euromet-meeting in Thessaloniki - March 20059 FORCE Technology Cooling system An essential part of the high pressure loop is the cooling system. 2 heat exchanger, each of 225 KW with a pressure drop lower than 50 mbar helps to hold the temperature (and the pressure) in the loop, at a very constant level

10 Euromet-meeting in Thessaloniki - March 200510 FORCE Technology Vessel where the axial- compressor are built in. The flanges have a thickness of 125 mm. The diameter of the flanges is app. 1300 mm. 64 pieces of 30 mm bolts keep´s the flanges together.

11 Euromet-meeting in Thessaloniki - March 200511 FORCE Technology Gas Supply to the high-pressure loop -The natural gas is recieved from the gas company at 4 bar. -A high-pressure compressor raise the pressure to 200 bar and store it in bottles. -From the bottles the high-pressure loop is filled to the calibration-pressure. -After calibration the natural gas return to the high- pressure compressor and are pressurerised.
