2 Reader’s Theater defined… Connects oral reading, literature and drama. A form of literature that is meant to be read in front of an audience.

3 The purpose of Readers Theater to make printed words come alive through the characters.

4 Students develop fluency and expression using: volume pitch stress intonation

5 DRAMA TERMS SCRIPT: The written form of a play; usually includes dialogue and a cast of characters. CAST OF CHARACTERS: A list of all the characters in the play, often in order of appearance and usually found at the beginning of the script. DIALOGUE: The words that characters speak aloud.
