2 Planning to collect data. Before you begin to collect data, you must first consider the following: –Site – Where are you going to collect the data. Why is that location suitable. –What type and volume of data will you collect? –How will you record the data – Will you design a Data Recording sheet? –Sampling – How much data will you collect. How will you decide what to collect (sampling technique) –Safety – How will you remain safe? What risks might you encounter? How will you minimise those risks?

3 Planning to collect data. Now you need to decide whether your data is: –Primary Data Collection Data you have to collect yourself. What equipment do you need? –Secondary Data Collection Data that somebody has already collected. Where will you get this information?
