“Living a Resolute Life in the New Year ” Acts 11:23

When Barnabas came to the believers at Antioch and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with purpose of heart. Acts 11:23

“Resolved, that I will do whatsoever I think to be most to God's glory, and my own good, profit and pleasure, in the whole of my duration, without any consideration of the time, whether now, or never so many myriads of ages hence. Resolved to do whatever I think to be my duty, and most for the good and advantage of mankind in general. Resolved to do this, whatever difficulties I meet with, how many and how great soever.” Jonathan Edwards (the 1st of 70 resolutions)

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, to Seek.... One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple. (Psalm 27:4)

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, to Seek.... Resolved, to Seek God’s will as the One Thing for and in the doing of life in the here and now.

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, to Follow.... For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. (1 Peter 2:21)

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, to Follow.... Resolved, to Follow Christ – the pattern of his life on earth – as the pattern for my life in the here and now.

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, to Admit.... Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10)

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, to Admit.... Resolved, to admit my sinfulness in each day, step-by-step along the way, and depend solely upon the forgiveness I am granted in Christ.

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, to Bear.... Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, to Bear.... Resolved, to bear the burdens of others by understanding their struggles, taking up their cares and sharing their pain.

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, Not to Offer.... But King David said to Araunah, “No, but I will buy it from you for a price. I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God that cost me nothing.” (2 Samuel 24:24)

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, Not to Offer.... For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers. (Acts 13:36a)

“Living a Resolute Life”  Resolved, Not to Offer.... Resolved, not to offer to the Lord that which cost me nothing, but rather to pay the price and be expended in the service of the Lord and others in this my generation.

Remember to read over these Resolutions once a week.
