4 USMLE Step 2 CK (Clinical Knowledge)  Clinical diagnosis and disease pathogenesis  355 questions / 8 blocks (45/block)  9 hours  Medicine, Surgery, Peds, Psychiatry, Obs/Gyn  Significant overlap w step 1 in pharma, pathophys, and bio-stats  Cost $865 US + International location $165 (Aus)  Offered in Sydney and Melbourne Step 2 CS (Clinical Skills)  12 standard patient interactions, 15 min each  Must be taken in US (Philly, Atlanta, LA, Chicago, Houston)  Pass or fail – no numerical score  Costs $1505 Step 3…during residency

5 Timeline Must have completed 2 years of medicine before taking steps 1 or 2  Step 1: sooner or later?  favorable to have done internal med rotations before taking step 2 CS Have 7 years from time of first exam to finish Steps 1 and 2  Step 2 CS scores are valid indefinitely Steps 1 and 2 are considered valid for 7 years Registration for all 3 via ECFMG website

8 Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination (MCCEE) 4 hr, 180 MC questions, computer based exam 150 scored, 30 not scored Cannot retake if passed Standard score scale 50-500 Average score 271 (s.d. 50), pass score 250 Pre-requisite to Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE) and NAC-OSCE Offered up to 5 times a year in a 2-3week testing window (Jan, March, May, Sept, Oct-Nov) 3 Prometric sites in Australia $1,695 CAD Score valid indefinitely
