9. What is cultural competence? Turn to you partner and define cultural competence in your own words.

10. To reflect on our own world view and to learn about others… Place a pin on our classroom map to show where you are “from”. Use as many pushpins as you need. Sketch a map of your life to represent places, people, activities that matter to you and have shaped your world view. Represent however you want. Ideas: draw your house or your neighborhood; sketch your path from birth to now including places you’ve lived and/or stuff you have done.
