12. Why we need to install the OL Trap System?

13.  A two in one device: 1.Surveillance tool and at the same time, 2.a trap; reducing the population density (collects eggs).  It is also an attractant trap of which the eggs are deposited on the paddle.  The trap consists of a black container, a small strip of lawanit or tongue depressor and water.  It is used as a means of detecting mosquitoes as well as an approximate gauge of the adult population in an area.  It can be used to estimate fairly well the population of adult mosquitoes in the environment by counting the number of eggs laid on the moist paddle.  In this way, a sudden increase of mosquito population can be detected.

17. Back-Up Reporting mechanism A. ASTI flags data when the following instances are encountered: 1.OLI is at alert level (OLI>20%for three consecutive weeks. 2.OLI increases/decreases by 50% compared to previous week 3.School is unable to report data for two consecutive weeks. A system generated email will be sent to all coordinators (DOST, CHD, LGU, DepEd DO) whenever data flags are encountered.
