2 Child Abuse is affecting the world greater than we know. In this presentation you will come to see the affects it has and also real statistics that will make you sick.

3 Child Abuse in America- “Children are suffering from a hidden epidemic of child abuse and neglect. Over 3 million reports of child abuse are made every year in the United States; however, those reports can include multiple children.” A report of child abuse is made every ten seconds More than five children die every day as a result of child abuse This information can be found on WWW.Childhelp.org

5 Bruises or welts shaped like an object (belt buckle or electric cord). Bruises in unusual places (back, eyes, mouth, buttocks, genital areas, thighs, calves). Layers of different colored bruises in the same general area. "Sock" or "glove" burns on feet or hands or doughnut shaped burns on buttocks (from forcing the child into hot water). Small round burns from cigarettes. Burns in the shape of an object (iron, fireplace tool, or heater). Rope burns on ankles, wrists, or torso. Adult sized bite marks. 6 About 80% of 21 year olds that were abused as children met criteria for at least one psychological disorder. Abused children are 25% more likely to experience teen pregnancy. 14% of all men in prison in the USA were abused as children. 36% of all women in prison were abused as children. 7 We can lower child abuse rates by reporting any suspicions or knowing of it to the National Child Abuse Hotline 1-800-4-A-CHILD This will help lower future abuse, crime rates, teen pregnancy, STDs, and Psychological disorders all caused by abuse.
