Instructions for using this template. Remember this is Jeopardy, so where I have written “Answer” this is the prompt the students will see, and where I have “Question” should be the student’s response. To enter your questions and answers, click once on the text on the slide, then highlight and just type over what’s there to replace it. If you hit Delete or Backspace, it sometimes makes the text box disappear. When clicking on the slide to move to the next appropriate slide, be sure you see the hand, not the arrow. (If you put your cursor over a text box, it will be an arrow and WILL NOT take you to the right location.)

Choose a category. You will be given the answer. You must give the correct question. Click to begin.

NSR means…

What is normal sinus rhythm?

A normal heart rate

What is 60 to 100 beats per minute?

“SA” is short for one of the nodes in the heart

What is sinoatrial?

All sinus rhythms have these parts on an ECG

What are PQRST?

Sinus arrhythmias have all the parts of a sinus rhythm except this

What is a regular rate?

These atrial rhythms are early contractions of the atria

What are PACs (premature atrial complexes)?

When the atria are beating way too fast compared to the ventricles

What is atrial flutter?

On this rhythm, QRS complexes occur irregularly and P waves are difficult to distinguish

What is atrial fibrillation?

In this rhythm the P waves look like saw teeth

What is atrial flutter?

This atrial rhythm can lead to blood clots, which can lead to strokes, heart attacks, pulmonary emboli, and death

What is atrial fibrillation?

This rhythm occurs when the ventricles contract too early

What is a PVC (premature ventricular contraction)?

More than this many PVCs in one minute indicate that the heart muscle is irritated and will likely go into a more dangerous rhythm

What is six?

This rhythm is distinguished by the “V” appearance

What is ventricular tachycardia?

When this rhythm occurs, the ventricles are quivering

What is ventricular fibrillation?

If ventricular fibrillation is not treated this will occur

What is death?

This part of the ECG is the ventricular contraction

What is the QRS complex?

This part of the ECG shows the contraction of the atria

What is the P wave?

The part of the ECG that represents the repolarization of the ventricle

What is the T wave?

An atrial rhythm that does not appear to have p waves

What is atrial fibrillation?

Absence of all waveforms

What is asystole?

This rhythm is also called “flatline”

What is asystole?

How to tell the difference in a PAC and a PVC

What are oddly shaped beats in PVCs?

A sinus rhythm that is below 60 beats a minute and regular

What is sinus bradycardia?

A sinus rhythm that is between 100 and 150 beats per minute and regular

What is sinus tachycardia?

Make your wager

The way to distinguish a PAC rhythm from plain old sinus arrhythmia

What are spikey- looking P waves?
