 There is a purpose for every advertisement that you see.  Let’s look at some examples:

Is there a price to be found anywhere? Is it still an ad? What is the purpose of the ad?

What is Apple trying to do here with this ad?

What different type of promotions do you see in this advertisement?

How does this company grab your attention with its website?

1. Attention 2. Interest 3. Desire 4. Action

 Something simple can grab someone’s attention.  A new product  A fancy picture  Colors  A phrase or logo

 What is going to make people want to buy it or find out more information about it?  Be creative  Be inspired  Think of your demographic (target market)

 Why are they going to buy this?  What makes it so special?  Why have they been living with out this their whole life?

 How are you going to get them to get on their feet and go get this product or service?  What’s their motivation?

 You need to create 3 advertisements as part of your promotion plan  Due Today: Your promotion Plan 1. Create an advertising plan  What forms of advertising are you going to use?  Print  Video  Website  Others?

 White Space  Proximity  Circular eye movement  Spatial Sizing

White space. Doesn’t always have to be white, but every inch does not have to be taken up Circular. Your eyes are moving in a circle and staying on the page

Using white space (yes it’s green but it is white space. I don’t like this ad because it is forcing you to look away from the page.

Where are your eyes being forced to look? The Coke Bottles. Now look at the mans chin. I’m pretty sure it is photoshopped. No one’s chin looks like that. But it is done on purpose to form a point to look into the Coke bottle. Now, who wants to go swimming?

If you don’t use this you’ll be a sissy. Don’t be a sissy. Eat Tabasco. Cleaver. White space as well. Very well designed ad.

Stop the madness. If you make an ad like this you will Fail my class. What are they even trying to tell you? This makes my head hurt.

I’m not really sure what to think about this. Does it make you want to visit like the ad states?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. So Awesome. Everything about it.

What the heck? Take a real close look. Everything about this is horrible.

 Think about what you need to do to leave a good lasting impression for your customers  Print ads can be very effective. Here are some types of print ads you may want to consider:  Door Hangers (Like the ones that go around a door)  Fliers (Be careful though)  Ad that might go in a newspaper or magazine

 If you would like to make a video commercial for your business, that could be a very good way to get your name out there. Be creative, but don’t be silly. People are buying you and your service, so make them want to buy what you are selling.  30 Second max on any commercial ( I want to see your story board. Don’t waste time)

 Social Media is a great way to advertise.  These may be similar to your print ads, but they can not be the same thing  A PSA or public service announcement or a radio ad is another good way to advertise your company or product. How many times do you hear a little 15 second ad on Pandora or Spotify? All the time

 You need to make 3 different ads  Only 2 can be print ads  The other one needs to be a video, PSA, Radio Ad or social media ad  These are due at the end of class. Submit them on canvas.
