9 Interest DI Base CONTENT on student interests Create lessons around topics of interest to your students. Use familiar content as a bridge (hook, scaffold) for new content. Provide opportunities that allow students to demonstrate expertise they have developed outside of school. Use familiar skills as the scaffold for learning new ones.
