2. 1: Further focusing on needs and requirements from the constituency Information analysis reports cover feedback relating to specific standardization objectives Other feedback from projects is included in the reports of the kick-off meetings Requirements from projects reflected in the Generic Guidelines at an aggregate level Background: needs and feedback from the kick-off meetings and contacts with the IST projects should be made more evident, specifically in terms of requirements for effectively supporting relationships between the IST constituency and the standardisation environment Implementation:D08, D14 & D15

3. 2: Performing a standardisation - research “reversed mapping” WP3 Call 2 deliverables were re-scheduled and a new reverse mapping deliverable was introduced Areas covered by projects in Calls 1 & 2 were held against main working areas for 11 standards organizations in the ICTSB Good feedback & interest from Project Officers Background: COPRAS’ analysis of IST projects should be also used to identify how the topics that are relevant for the different existing standard bodies and groups are mapped and covered by the funded projects, highlighting possible gaps and bodies not addressed at all or insufficiently covered Implementation:D18

4. 3: Understanding COPRAS as a wider support action A new deliverable was introduced marking the first launch of the ‘Generic Guidelines platform’ Guidelines accessible in an interactive way Additional ‘features’ will be added during 2006 Results from Standardization Action Plans implemented when available Background: COPRAS should aim at building a platform that goes beyond the action planning for some specific projects or the generic information dissemination on standards issues; it should aim at creating wider impact, and emphasise the relevance of the Generic Guidelines Implementation:D22

5. 4: Devoting more resources to D15 generic material, abandoning call 3 Call 3 was abandoned and the Generic Guidelines were delivered early summer 2005 Additional deliverables were introduced supporting the dissemination of the Guidelines Intensive promotional effort resulted in successful distribution among the Call 4 & 5 constituencies Background: the development and promotion of the “Interim Generic Material”, requires appropriate resources. This can be done by abandoning of the work on call 3. This first deliverable should set the “standards” scene and offer guidelines on how to approach such a scene, also focusing on Calls 4 and 5 Implementation:D15

6. 5: Ensuring a wider coverage of the IST S.O. COPRAS put a lot of effort ensuring wide coverage of research as well as standards areas –Only a single Strategic Objective did not have projects invited to the kick-off meetings –13 out of 18 Strategic Objectives addressed are covered by COPRAS Standardization Action Plans –For call 1 the ratio for international standards organizations addressed is 70%, for Call 2 90% Background: the selected projects that COPRAS intends to develop Standardisation Action Plan with should present a wider coverage of the IST Strategic Objectives, going also beyond the boundaries of the direct competences of the actual COPRAS partners. Implementation:D11 & D16

7. 6: Evaluating the standardisation action plans and the generic material Execution of Standardization Action Plans is monitored and supported actively by COPRAS A first assessment of results achieved for bother the Standardization Action Plans and the Generic Guidelines is contained in D17 Complete assessments will be contained in D28 Background: the implementation phase of the Standardisation Action Plans should be monitored. Lessons learned about their impact should be reported in D17, in which also the usefulness and applicability of the generic material should be carefully evaluated, also based on feedback from Call 4 & 5 projects Implementation:D17

8. 7: Upgrading the project web site The COPRAS web site has been entirely restyled and more content has been made available The Generic Guidelines have a separate section on the web site that will be expanded Traffic has been monitored for a considerable period showing an encouraging number of hits Background: the COPRAS web site design should be upgraded, reflecting the content of the D15 “generic material”, improving the graphical interface and implementing functionality allowing an assessment of the level of usage of the site (mapping & counting hits, type of organisations downloading the deliverables, etc.) Implementation:D22

9. 8: Preparing a new version of the project brochure A new brochure was produced dedicated to the Generic Guidelines Main aspects of the Generic Guidelines are summarized and highlighted Distribution of the brochure focused on the IST research and standards communities Background: the next version of the COPRAS brochure should indicate that the overall project strategic objectives also include the development of a more generic platform, support material and guidelines addressing all parties interested to set-up an effective link between IST research and the standardization environment Implementation:D20

10. 9: Developing executive summaries of the deliverables Executive summaries are prepared for: D05, D06, D08, D09, D11, D12, D14, D16, D17, D18 & D19 All deliverables are updated and downloadable from the COPRAS web site (except D11 & D16) Executive summaries can be downloaded separately, also for the non-public deliverables Background: in order to make some of the COPRAS’ deliverables and reports more attractive for interested third parties, the consortium is invited to consider the possibility to prepare executive extracts of the most important parts of these reports, and make these downloadable from the web site. 11. 10: Updating the exploitation planning towards sustainability A new dissemination and exploitation plan addresses development and dissemination of the –generic guidelines, –Generic Guidelines brochures –the Generic Guidelines platform version Several options and scenarios addressing the sustainability of the projects results are included Background: the next version of the dissemination and exploitation plan should focus more on the exploitation of the generic material and a worst case scenario should be included in order to address the sustainability of the COPRAS platform also after the project’s termination Implementation:D21
