This module reviews the self- appraisal process as well as using Performance Notes, a tool for tracking progress and accomplishments throughout the year. Select “Start”. There are options to select while working within the self- appraisal. “Save” – Use to save progress before leaving an incomplete document. “Complete” - Use only when you have finished. Makes the document available to your primary reviewer. You will not be able to edit the document after selecting “Complete”. “Cancel” - Deletes your work. Prints a copy. Takes you back to the Status Summary page.

3 3 Section 2 is personalized to your role in the organization. It focuses on the essential job functions associated with your role. To review the criteria for each rating, select the Rating Description icon (see next graphic). Section 2 is personalized to your role in the organization. Follow the Section 1 instructions above and use the dropdown feature to complete the section. Section 2 is weighted as 55% of your appraisal. Use the calculator to average your rating in each section.

You have the option to calculate each section or calculate the overall rating at the end of Section 6. Each section counts as 15% of your appraisal. 5 5 Section 6 provides the overall score for your appraisal. Click the calculator icon for an average of all sections and then compare your score to the key to understand your rating. Sections 7 & 8 are narrative sections which means you will type in your information. Enter 3 – 5 strengths in Section 7. Then list 2-3 development areas you want to work on and improve in the next year in Section 8. Complete the module for Performance Note to learn how to use this helpful tool so you can keep track all year long.
