21 Student Evaluation and Summary of Results

22 Elementary GPAs Elementary Calculation of GPA: * Elementary Counselors MUST add the G.P.A to the summary of score on the evaluation ELEMENTARY COUNSELORS - ACADEMIC PROGRESS Assign an academic progress score based on the last two full years. Since you are using O and S to determine the academic progress, you will need to determine if the student's reporting codes are a majority of O's or S's for mathematics, science, social studies, and language arts. Assign the selection point score based on the following: For all S's, type in 3.2, which will automatically be 1 point For more S's than O's, type 3.5, which will automatically be 2 points For more O's than S's, type 3.8, which will automatically be 3 points For all O's, type 4.0, which will automatically be 3 points

23 Selection Points 21 or higher: with selection points of at least 7 are usually recommended 18-20 pending (but not quite recommended): Counselor must make disposition. If counselor chooses Not Recommend, an Appeal form is sent to the parent. – If any of the top 3 is Zero, then NOT RECOMMENDED. (Parent can appeal). – If CogAT is 21 and selection points are 7,8, or 9, then recommended. Under 18: Not Recommended.

24 Counselors Disposition final notes: Every box must have an entry. It there is no score, put in a ZERO If score is empty, it won’t allow the disposition selection to save A report will be available that counselors can send to the advance program office that shows a summary of scores Selection points are automatically calculated except for other screening tests
