2. In the year under review the DoW has a Risk Management Committee that meets to monitor the implementation of risk management initiatives and activities in the DoW. This Committee was formally appointed by the Director-General in writing and is regulated by the Risk Management Committee Charter. The Committee is chaired by an external person who also serves as an Audit Committee member of the DoW. Risk management is not yet embedded in the culture of the DoW. Continuous training and change management efforts will be implemented throughout the financial year. Going forward, the department will conduct regular annual assessments of the effectiveness of its risk management through its Risk Management Committee. CURRENT STATUS OR PROGRESS IN 2015/16 The DoW now has the Audit and Risk Committee.
