2 Location The headquarters for the WHO is located in Geneva, Switzerland. There are six regional offices for the WHO around the world. ●Africa (AFRO) ●The Americas (AMRO/PAHO) ●South-East Asia (SEARO) ●Europe (EURO) ●Eastern Mediterranean (EMRO) ●Western Pacific (WPRO)

5 Sources of Funding The WHO is funded by a mixture of assessed and mixed contributions. Assessed: money that countries pay to be apart of the organization. Voluntary: donations.

7 Violence Against Women ●The United Nations (UN) defines violence against women ○Physical, Sexual, Mental or Emotional Health ●How they help ○Rape Hotline -- 1 (800) 799- 7233 ○Group ○Seminars ○Counseling

8 Infants / Newborns/ Foster Children ●Under 28 days of life ●Critical time for love and care ●Helps mothers care for their children ●Gives the proper food, care, shelter, and clothes ●Helps the mother financially support her child

9 What is Ebola? Also called Ebola fever, Ebola hemorrhagic fever, Ebola virus disease. a usually fatal disease, a type of hemorrhagic fever, caused by the Ebola virus and marked by high fever, severe gastrointestinal distress, and bleeding.

10 Method of Distributing Treatments to the public - Ebola By providing leadership on health matters critical to health in countries throughout the world, WHO sets health standards to deal with crisis like Ebola. The WHO helped the public during the Ebola outbreak by quarantining villages, searching for infected people, and cleaning the area affected by the disease. WHO Website Provides Ebola Facts
